Cassandra
in ancient Greek stories, the daughter of Priam, King of Troy. The god Apollo gave her the power to see what would happen in the future, but he also made sure that no one would ever believe her. People are sometimes called a "Cassandra" if they warn that something bad will happen, but no one believes them.
