Feeding of the Five Thousand, the
a story from the Bible in which Jesus performs a miracle by providing food for 5000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish. People sometimes use this phrase humorously to talk about a situation in which they have to provide a meal for a lot of people.:
We have Beth's family and mine coming for Christmas, so it'll be like the Feeding of the Five Thousand.
