(1954-55) a novel by J. R. R. Tolkien, which continues the story of TheHobbit. It takes place in a land called Middle-Earth, and has many strange magical characters in it, including the wizard Gandalf and a Hobbit called Frodo, who has to save the world from great evil. There have been three award-winning films based on the book.
