Macdonald, Ramsey
(1866-1937) a British politician in the Labour Party, who became the first Labour Prime Minister in 1924. He was later Prime Minister of a 'National Government' (=a government formed from members of all the political parties) during the period of economic difficulty and high unemployment of the 1930s.
