McCartney, Paul
(1942- ) a British singer and songwriter, now Sir Paul McCartney, who was a member of The Beatles, and who wrote most of their songs with John Lennon. He led a new band called Wings in the 1970s, and has continued writing and performing music. His wife, Linda McCartney (1941-98), was a photographer who formed a company that sold ready-made vegetarian food.
