McPherson, Aimee Semple
(1890-1944) a US evangelist, who travelled all around the US in the 1920s teaching the Christian religion. She became extremely popular and had her own radio station and a very large church in Los Angeles. She was officially charged with tricking people into giving her money, but a court of law decided she was not guilty.
