Old Man of the Sea, The
a character in the story of Sinbad the Sailor in The Arabian Nights, who persuades Sinbad to carry him on his back, and then twists his legs around Sinbad so that Sinbad cannot get him off. Sinbad makes the old man drunk, gets him off his back, and kills him.
