Pink Panther, the
1 a character in humorous cartoon films who is a pink panther (=a large wild animal of the cat family). The music from the cartoon, the "Pink Panther theme", is very well known.
2 a valuable jewel which is stolen in a series of humorous films about a French police officer called Inspector Clouseau. The first of these films is called The Pink Panther.
