Pulitzer Prize [countable]
one of the 21 prizes given every year in the US to people who have produced especially good work in journalism (=writing for newspapers), literature, or music. The prizes were started by the US newspaper owner Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911), and winning a Pulitzer Prize is a great honour.
