(1879-1935) a US humorous writer and performer. Rogers sometimes told jokes while spinning a lasso (=a rope with one end tied in a circle) and often used jokes to criticize politicians. He was known for his short, clever, funny sayings, such as "I don't make jokes - I just watch the government and report the facts."
