two US singers, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, who started playing together during the 1960s and became very famous when some of their songs were used in the film The Graduate (1967). Their songs, most of which were written by Paul Simon, include The Sound of Silence, Mrs Robinson and Bridge Over Troubled Water. Paul Simon later became successful singing and playing by himself.
