From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishAdidasAd‧i‧das /ˈædədæs $ əˈdiːdəz/ trademark  a type of sports clothes, shoes, and equipment, sold all over the world. One of its special signs is three long white lines going down the arms of jackets and legs of sportswear. The Adidas company was started by Adolf (“Adi”) Dassler in1949 in Germany.
