Alamein

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishAlameinAl‧a‧mein /ˈæləmeɪn/ (also El Alamein)  a place in Egypt where the British army was successful in two important battles in 1942 against the German army in World War II. In the Second Battle of El Alamein, the British army was led by Field Marshal Montgomery.
