From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishHutton, BarbaraBarbara HuttonHutt‧on, Bar‧ba‧ra /ˈhʌtn, ˈbɑːbə $ ˈbɑːr-/  (1912–79) an American woman from the rich family that started the Woolworth stores, who was called ‘the poor little rich girl’ after her mother killed herself. She married many times and was addicted to alcohol and drugs. When she died she had very little money left.
