From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishBlightyBligh‧ty /ˈblaɪti/ British English old use  a name for Britain which was used especially by British soldiers and other British people working abroad for the British Empire during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is now sometimes used humorously.
