Boston Pops, the

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishBoston Pops, thethe Boston PopsˌBoston ˈPops, the trademark  an orchestra (=large group of musicians) from Boston, known for its performances and records of well-known pieces of classical music and famous tunes from films and musicals. For many years, its conductor was Arthur Fiedler. Most of the musicians in the Boston Pops are members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
