Davis, Carl

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishDavis, CarlCarl DavisDa‧vis, Carl /ˈdeɪvɪs, kɑːl $ kɑːrl/  (1936-) a US conductor and composer who was born in New York City, but who has lived in the UK since 1961. He is a conductor for the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. He has written music for films such as The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981) and for many television programmes.
