From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishYastrzemski, CarlCarl YastrzemskiYa‧strzem‧ski, Carl /jəˈstremski, kɑːl $ kɑːrl/  (1939–) a US baseball player who was a famous member of the Boston Red Sox team from 1961 to 1983, often known as ‘Yaz’. He won seven Golden Glove Awards, and was MVP in 1967. He was known for hitting home runs.
