Cookson, Catherine

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishCookson, CatherineCatherine CooksonCook‧son, Cath‧er‧ine /ˈkʊksən, ˈkæθərɪn/  (1906–98) a British writer of novels with romantic stories that take place in the past, in the northeast of England. Her books are especially popular with women, and many of them have been made into television films.
