From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishLindbergh, CharlesCharles LindberghLind‧bergh, Charles /ˈlɪndbɜːɡ $ -bɜːrɡ/  (1902–74) a US pilot who in 1927 became the first person to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean without stopping. He flew from New York to Paris in his plane called The Spirit of Saint Louis. Later his baby son was kidnapped ( kidnap ) and murdered.
