Hirst, Damien

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishHirst, DamienDamien HirstHirst, Da‧mi‧en /hɜːst $ hɜːrst, ˈdeɪmiən/  (1965–) a British artist known for his unusual works of art, especially those in which the bodies of dead animals, such as cows, sheep, and sharks, are placed in large glass containers of liquid. Some people criticize his work for being too shocking, and think that it is not really art.
