Milliband, David

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMilliband, DavidDavid MillibandMil·li·band, Da·vid /ˈmɪlɪbænd, ˈdeɪvəd/   (1965-) a British politician and Labour MP who was Foreign Secretary (2007-2010) when Gordon Brown was prime minister. During Tony Blair’s time as prime minister, he was minister for Communities and Local Government (2005–2006) and secretary of state for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs (2006–2007). In 2010 he lost the election to become leader of the Labour Party. His brother, Ed Milliband, got the job instead.
