dengue feverden‧gue fe‧ver /ˈdeŋɡi ˈfiːvə $ ər/ noun [uncountable]  an illness commonly found in hot countries, caused by the bite of a mosquito which has been infected with a virus. People with the illness have a fever and pain in their head, muscles, and joints.
