Strauss-Kahn, Dominique

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishStrauss-Kahn, DominiqueDominique Strauss-KahnStrauss-Kahn, Dom‧i‧nique /ˌstraʊs ˈkɑːn, dɒmɪˈniːk $ dɑːm-/  (1949-) a French economist and politician who was Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2007 until 2011. In May 2011 he was arrested in New York City and charged with trying to rape a hotel maid. He gave up his job at the IMF. He had also been considered as a possible future president of France. In news reports he is often called by the first letters of his names: DSK.
