Dordogne, the

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishDordogne, thethe DordogneDor‧dogne, the /dɔːˈdɔɪn $ dɔːrˈdəʊn/  an area in southwest France around the River Dordogne, which is a popular place for tourists. Many middle-class British families go to the Dordogne for their summer holidays, usually to go camping or to stay in a gîte (=a rented house).
