From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishDr WhoDr Who /ˌdɒktə ˈhuː $ ˌdɑːktər-/ trademark  a British series of television programmes about a person from another planet called the Doctor, who travels with different people through time and space in his time machine, the Tardis. He fights evil people and frightening creatures from other worlds, usually in a way that is not violent. His most famous enemies are the Daleks. Many different actors have played the Doctor.
