Murrow, Edward R.

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMurrow, Edward R.Edward R. MurrowMur‧row, Edward R. /ˈmʌrəʊ $ ˈmɜːrəʊ/  (1908–65) a US television news reporter known for reporting from London during the Blitz in World War II. He is also known for his television programmes after the war which dealt with political subjects about which there was a lot of disagreement, such as the activities of US Senator Joseph McCarthy in 1954.
