elimination diet

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary Englishelimination dietelimiˈnation ˌdiet noun [countable]  a special diet used by doctors to discover whether certain foods are making someone ill. It involves not eating foods that might be causing the problem. Later you start to eat each of these foods again separately over a period of time until one of them makes you ill.
