From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary Englishfloortimefloor‧time /ˈflɔːtaɪm $ ˈflɔːr-/ noun [uncountable]  when an adult gets down onto the floor in order to play with a child. People do this so that the child will feel more comfortable playing with an adult, and some people also believe that it can help a child’s mental abilities to develop fully.
