From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishEdwards, GarethGareth EdwardsEd‧wards, Gar‧eth /ˈedwədz $ -wərdz, ɡærəθ/  (1947–) a British rugby union player who played for Wales from 1967 to 1978, and became captain when he was only 20 years old. He is considered to be one of the greatest rugby players of all time.
