From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishCarey, GeorgeGeorge CareyCa‧rey, George /ˈkeəri/  (1935–) a British priest who was the Archbishop of Canterbury (=the leader of the Church of England) from 1991 to 2002. During his time as Archbishop, he allowed the ordination of women as priests.
