From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishGrimmGrimm /ɡrɪm/  two German brothers, Jakob Grimm (1785–1863) and Wilhelm Grimm (1786–1859), usually known as The Brothers Grimm. They studied language and wrote a German dictionary, but they are best known for writing Grimm's Fairy Tales, a collection of nearly 200 stories which are still popular with children.
