Hancock, Herbie

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishHancock, HerbieHerbie HancockHan‧cock, Her‧bie /ˈhænkɒk $ -kɑːk, ˈhɜːbiǁˈhɜːr-/  (1940–) an American jazz pianist and composer. He has played with many other musicians and was a member of the Miles Davis Quintet in the 1960s. He is well known for mixing elements of jazz, funk, rock, soul and hiphop. His most well-known record is Head Hunters (1973) and his songs include Watermelon Man and Rockit.
