From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMcEwan, IanIan McEwanMc‧Ew‧an, Ian /məˈkjuːən/  (1948–) a British writer whose books typically deal with the subject of human cruelty and violence. His novels include Amsterdam, which won the Booker Prize in 1999, Saturday (2005), and On Chesil Beach (2007).
