From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishWatson, JamesJames WatsonWatson, James  (1928–) a US scientist who, together with Francis Crick, discovered the structure of dna, the substance that carries genetic information in the cells of plants, animals, and humans. They won a Nobel Prize in 1962 for their work.
