Salinger, J.D.

SalingerSal‧in‧ger, J.D. /ˈsælɪndʒə $ -dʒər/  (1919–2010) a US writer best known for his book The Catcher in the Rye, one of the most famous and popular US novels ever written. Since writing this in 1951, he wrote some short stories, but he never wrote another novel, and he was known for being a recluse (=someone who lives on their own and avoids other people).
