Baez, Joan

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishBaez, JoanJoan BaezBa‧ez, Joan /ˈbaɪez/  (1941–) an American folk singer who was especially popular in the 1960s when she opposed the Vietnam War and supported the civil rights movement in the US. She is known especially for singing the song We Shall Overcome which is still sung on protest marches and at political meetings.
