Masefield, John

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMasefield, JohnJohn MasefieldMase‧field, John /ˈmeɪsfiːld/ 🔊 🔊 (1878–1967) a British writer and sailor, best known for his poems about the sea, such as Sea Fever and Cargoes. He became Poet Laureate (= the Queen's official poet) in 1930.
