From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishJonestownJones‧town /ˈdʒəʊnztaʊn/  a place in Guyana where people who followed the religious leader Jim jones lived. In 1974, they all killed themselves with poison as part of a ceremony, which became known as the Jonestown Massacre.
