Rudd, Kevin

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishRudd, KevinKevin RuddRudd, Kev·in /rʌd, ˈkevɪn/   (1957-) an Australian politician who was prime minister of Australia from 2007 until 2010. He became an MP in 1998 and leader of the Australian Labor Party in 2006. One of his earliest acts as prime minister was to apologize to indigenous Australians for the Stolen Generation (=when the government took children away from the families of indigenous people in the past). In 2010 he became minister for foreign affairs.
