From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishLambeth Walk, TheThe Lambeth WalkˌLambeth ˈWalk, The  a dance which was especially popular in the UK in the 1930s and 1940s, in which dancers form a long line, usually in the street. It was danced to a popular song, also called The Lambeth Walk, and is thought of as a typical cockney song.
