From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishLesothoLe‧so‧tho /ləˈsuːtuː $ -ˈsəʊtəʊ/  a country in southern Africa that has a lot of mountains, and is completely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. It became independent and a member of the British Commonwealth in 1966. Population: 1,936,181 (2014). Capital: Maseru.
