From Longman Business DictionaryLome ConventionLo‧me Con‧ven‧tion /ˈləʊmeɪ kənˌvenʃənloʊˈmeɪ-/ nounECONOMICS an agreement between the EU countries and some of the poorer countries of Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, made in 1975 at Lome, capital of Togo. Under the agreement the EU countries agreed to help the economies of the other countries, for example by allowing many of their products to be imported into the EU without paying import tax
