Machu Picchu

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMachu PicchuMa‧chu Pic‧chu /ˌmɑːtʃuː ˈpiːktʃuː/  an ancient ruined South American city high up in the Andes mountains in Peru. It was built by the Incas, a Native American people of South America, in about 1500 AD, and has a temple (=religious building) of the Sun and many other buildings. It is a popular place for tourists to visit.
