From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMADDMADD /mæd/  Mothers Against Drunk Driving; a US organization, started by a woman whose daughter was killed by a driver who was drunk. It has been successful in bringing the problem of drunk driving to people's attention in the US, and in encouraging the government to make stronger laws against it.
