Portillo, Michael

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishPortillo, MichaelMichael PortilloPor‧til‧lo, Michael /pɔːˈtɪləʊ $ pɔːr-/  (1953–) a British politician in the Conservative Party who had important government jobs until he lost his position as a Member of Parliament in the 1997 election. He was elected to Parliament again in 1999, but he left politics in 2005. He now works as a journalist and television presenter.
