From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishMSSAMSSA /ˌem es es ˈeɪ/ noun [uncountable] medical  the name for a group of bacteria that attack the nervous system and that cannot be treated by normal antibiotic drugs. These bacteria are also called superbugs, and are found in hospitals.
