From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishNew Forest, thethe New ForestˌNew ˈForest, the  an area in Hampshire in southern England, which has many oak and beech trees, and also has large areas of heath (=open land with grass). Many people spend their holidays there, especially to ride horses or walk through the woods.
