New Jersey

From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishNew JerseyNew ˈJersey (written abbreviation NJ)  a state in the northeastern US, which has a large population and many businesses and industries. New Jersey was one of the 13 original states of the US, and the northern part of the state is across the Hudson River from New York City. It is often informally called Jersey.
