From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishParalympicsPar‧a‧lym‧pics /ˌpærəˈlɪmpɪks/ (also Paralympic Games) noun [plural]  an international sports event held every four years for disabled athletes who cannot use a part of their body properly. It is held after the Olympic games, in the same city.
